One nitpicky part: "metal doors shattering inwards" DOES METAL SHATTER? I THINK NOT. Go study some chemistry. What are the properties of metals? I believe malleability is one. On the other hand, if you'd like to make the door out of a non-metal or semi-metal such as... SULFUR! Yes... sulfur. It'd smell odd though.
