I'm not a drug user or a drinker but some of my friends are. This poem makes me feel like I understand them slightly better.
I like your last two lines the best.

We drink to be alone.
We drink because of the loneliness that follows,
We drink so that we don’t have to know.

We can’t listen to the voices in our head,
-i think this is a favorite of mine.
