You portray real care and understanding for someone who seems so bad off quite clearly. It seems to drag on a bit in the middle but still a solid write. You do get the most important thing right though. You do an excellent job of portraying the mood. Another winner.

You cannot save those who do not wish to be saved. Like the old saying goes, you can lead a horse to water but you cannot make him drink.

Wow, this is really good! That's a good motto, "save the one's who can't save themselves." The world doesn't usually see our pain, but this is how we show it. Great writing! keep writing!

I liked it...but I wasn't a big fan of the "baby girl/baby boy" start of lines. Just me, maybe.
