Sorry to fake you out with the extra review... but I noticed that I didn't sign in the last time I reviewed this chapter, and since all of my reviews have been pretty lame, I wanted to write you a nice long essay about why this story is so awesome.

Because I've been reading through it, and it's been long enough since you were telling me about it and since I've read any of the actual Nuance series that I've been appreciating it as a story that stands on its own, without our myriad of inside jokes, and I've realized that's it's brilliant in its own right.

The characters are all really well drawn, from the von Bonos' backstory to Miss Izumi's evil laughter and bitchy personality. I find myself really attached to Maria, Fjord, and Maxim, even though they've never been favorites of mine. I wish that this was a movie or a manga, just so I could watch all of the interactions between them.

And the first chapter is actually really good... I was reading it again, and I like it quite a bit. It does leave us loyal readers on a cliffie, though... You never did get to Maria's superpowers... or any of the others, for that matter.

Isaac is so great... mostly in the chapters that you haven't posted yet, his little "daddy's right here" style cameos are wonderful. And Natty, Henrietta, and Mary Kerry are all very good characters... well, they all are. I'm jealous; you create people so well, and you're so good at describing just enough so that the reader knows everything about them.

My fanfiction page hates linking to fictionpress... but I'll try to put the link on my profile anyway and see if we can get some people to fall madly madly in love with this.

Sorry, I know you're not exactly inspired to continue this, and I know this review isn't going to change that, but oh well.

I love Natty's accent (By the way, have you started calling him Natty in the posted version yet?)

Michiko and Jonathan are great in this chapter.

Haha, a good chapter. Can't help feel sorry for Maria, you'd think that, living in Paris, she'd be a little more worldly and know how to deal with teenage girls.
