abuseI'm a new reader to your story, I just started this story yesterday. By the way great story, I'm not a very religious person but I like that you are writing about that and how these two people in love are affected by their believes but end up doing something that it may not be right. I will be reading the other rose stories cause I just can't stop reading and wouldn't rest until I finished them. I will say update soon but I'm glad your story is complete cause then I will be checking my email to see if you updated.

I think I'll like this one, just hopes it has a verry happy ending :]

abuseour country was founded on christian beliefs? uh, no. most of the founding fathers were either deists or unitarians. i thought dan was a history teacher :P

sorry if i come off as rude. i'm agnostic so i might be nitpicky about the, uh, religiousness from time to time ^^; regardless, i'm really enjoying this story so far. i love student-teacher romances! sucks that the hottest teacher i ever had was my 6th grade teacher... *sigh* and he was a history teacher, too, so i imagine dan looking like him in my head. *swoon*

ANYWAY. i'll stop rambling. i'm really digging it so far, so i'd better get back to reading!

abuseIt is much better. A lot more strength in the writing, and it gets into more details. It's quite different, though I'm glad you kept some of the same factors as in the original, like the steak knives and the wood grains. It's movig a lot quicker as well, though I'm a little disappointed that Dan is more...distant, I suppose. In the original, you saw more of him, and he really came out to Rebekah. So it seems a little detatched, and sorry if I keep comparing the two so often. Ths really is amazing, so far.

abuseI read your original version, and I have to say, I already like this one better. It's got a lot more personality and...I'm not sure how to explain it. It's seems more full of life, more powerful, and I think it was a good change to have Rebekah's sister die when she was older. It leaves a stronger and more fresh impact. Can't wait to read more.

abuseGood to see that Rebekah is warming up to Mr. Fields, I suppose since she knows now about how their pasts are interconnected...The nightmare scene was effective but I don't know if I liked the repetition from the prologue there. It hasn't been long since the reader saw what happened and so the scene is still pretty fresh in the mind; it doesn't seem to need reiterating. Maybe if the same scene were worded in a different way, or if you added details that hadn't been revealed before...but it's not really a big deal. It just seems to me like that scene would replay itself differently in Rebekah's mind from the way we first see it, in third person. Anyway, I'm still quite engrossed with this plot. I thought the essay by Mr. Fields was very moving and penetrating, especially in connection with what Rebekah has experienced. Onward... :)

abuseWow...I've only read this first small part, but this is a fantastic story so far. I love the attention to small details and what they symbolize--the significance of the dishes Bekah washes, the baby doll that belonged to her little sister, the "eyes" in the wooden table. I'm interested to see where this goes...
