Cthulhu Is An Awesome God 2007-04-16 . chapter 1A decent start, and a really like the concept of a no-holds barred starship race, but, as always, the devil is in the details, and this story lacks details. Putting the word space in front of something, be it race, pirates, or vikings, does not a sci-fi story make. What planet are they on? Are they hovering in zero-G? Are there robots around? What's the political situations? What kind of spacey clothes are they wearing? (I think you mentioned modern-sounding suits, which may be an anarchroism when space travel is so common people race in it) Charachters also need a little fleshing out. I liked Dade, and the idea of grizzled or space slime Xeno Jones, (Great name, by the way) but some more eccentricities and bizarre behavior would make them stand out more. |
