I love it. It tells a story and it isn't just rambling.

"My eyes stare out, saddened." Saddened by what, exactly?
"Free me... this place." I'm having a difficult time picturing someone saying that. Obviously, it's quite metaphorical, but IMO it disrupts the flow of the poem when I struggle to picture someone actually speaking those words.
"Pennaceous wings." Isn't that a bit redundant? Dunno. Maybe not.
