let me be honest: the mention of savannah is what caught my eye. i was born there and although i live in california, i'm there right now for the summer.

although that was what drew me in, the entire piece was excellent. most of all i was struck by his blood turning to ink. and this: "It’s hot, hot and I put my head out the window and breathe in wet sunset air, the smell of the south and my skin and sweat, cypress and that dry, hanging moss. I want to be filled with these things, like I own spaces." it's so rich with imagery that i honestly feel like i'm there.

overall, very nice piece. the only critisism i might have is that everything feels a little surreal, but on another day i might've loved that quality, and i'm guilty of it in my writing as well. so. good job.

i LOVE you and your writing. i worked out, the other day, that you're italian opera, and of course i should have known because both of the styles are so similar and wonderful and refreshing.

you have no idea how much your words make me tumble! the heat, it made my skin sizzle when you described it. and when he was carving his collarbone i could feel my blood twitch and i had to squirm a bit. and the imagery of the witch-doctor and blood sacrifice was just perfect. wonderfully so.

i really hope you get published, because you would go far, so far.

This was an abstract little beauty. I don't have anything but guesses as to what's going on, but I think that's just what you wanted. Despite any inside knowledge as to what's going on, I love this, maybe even more so *because* I'm in the dark.
