squiggle-line 2007-05-23 ch 1,	abuse! Your narrator was so believable that I thought it was autobiographical for a moment. "mah-[jong?]" Extra 'g' ? I think the last couple sentences in the first paragraph ("After an hour of people...") are grammatically correct but they're awkward to read. Maybe re-word? "I [?] that my mom..." "...can't even speak [Chinese?] that one...what were Kwan Soo..." haha, you mentioned chinese school! :) Please continue!
Mockingbirdflyaway 2007-05-07 ch 1,	abuseThis was amusing :) I'm not Chinese, but I've been learning mandarin for the past four years, so I was delighted with myself that I could understand the chinese in the story, even though there wasn't much of it, lol. Or the older chinese ladies at my church trying to pair me off with their grandsons... I love the scene between Katie and Joel... hilarious! In the sixth paragraph... I'm confused by the first sentence... Is there a word missing or is it me? I can't wait to read more... There is more right? Anyway, update soon! ~Angel

Desiree32 2007-05-07 ch 1,	abuseHehe, I liked this~ I especially enjoyed the part where Katie was trying to get Joel to understand, and didn't know that he understood English! ^^ It was quite unexpected to me too, haha~ I also liked your description of the Chinese party, that was really good! Only one thing: "can’t even speak English, that one" - since it's a comment about Katie, I think it should be Chinese instead of English? Anyway, great story, I enjoyed it a lot! ^^
