Beautifully written -- when I read this, I thought of a scarily deep ocean for reasons I still don't know. This is so simple, but so well-written and descriptive and honestly, you've captured my attention. Hardly anyone these days writes well, especially the authors on bestseller lists and people on this site. So, I offer thee a cookie, which thou shalt ne'er consume because I cannot virtually transmit cookies through my monitor.
