abuseWow!

I'm stunned and in awe of your writing.

That was absolutely wonderful, touching, and simply delightful to read. Sad too, but awsome all the same. I loved it.

abuseI too thought Mr. and Mrs. Smith would be interesting as slash. I didn't care for the ending in this story, but the rest was good and it was nice that you took an idea and made it your own like this.

abuseOh my god.

The ending was so sad, and tears welled up in my eyes.

["How do I look?"

"Fine, Ed, you look fine."]

was brilliant.

I haven't seen the movie, but I think I've heard of it, maybe read the summary or something.

abuse...Okay, I've never seen the movie, but I knew that was it by the middle of this one-shot. And I absolutely wanted to cry at the end. I'll tell you what - this story chafed my mind in the way that that red leather did to Edwin. -nodnod- I'm just reviewing like a whore today, aren't I? -grin-

abuseWhoa, intense. And infinitely depressing, naturally. The progression is wonderful, the plodding tedium of the beginning contrasting with the animalistic energy of the end. Edwin's admittance that he's actually happy with Peter is very painful: at a moment when nothing more can be done about it, he finally recognizes what he really felt in the life he had with Peter, however boring it had seemed at the time.

"This is my job, this is my career." - That line really hurt. Especially with the emphasis put on "career," it's quite clear that Edwin has no life outside of his work, nothing to care about - except Peter.

"I could have stepped away at any time. I almost did, once, because I was lonely with my life. You changed my mind, Pete." - As I see it, this could be interpreted in two different ways. The more obvious one and the one I'd prefer is that Peter's presence in Edwin's life made him less lonely and able to deal with the emotional drain of his job. Another possible explanation, which is less likely given how this ended, is that a "normal" existence with Peter made him realize that he needed the excitement of his job and wasn't content with stepping away. At first, I was a little confused how to view the statement.

I don't quite remember the movie anymore, but Mr. and Mrs. Smith worked together rather than on opposite sides right? But I can definitely associate with the tendency to want things "slashed." Everything I write these days, no matter how far from romance, seems to beg for two male characters tearing at each other. I kind of fear it's borderline obsession.

I'm quite honored that you play favorites. :P Do I get an award?

abuseI think that the fact that I didn't see Mr. and Mrs. Smith made this so much better. I wonder who the trigger was pulled on, but I like to wonder. Either way, it's a tragic ending. I love the concept. I didn't finish the story. I read about half of and it and then I had to do something else and in the process of doing other things I listened to a song in Hebrew called "The Road to Happiness" which is about an old couple that fell into routine...I thought it was befitting.

And lastly, I remember at one point talking to you about Yossi and Jagger that I still have yet to see but I saw a feature film by the same people today: The Bubble. It's fantastic. I can't reccomend it enough.
