honestly this is so amazing, just finished all of this on livejournal! you are the most talented author ever and this is one of the best stories on here :) hope you continue the series and im looking forward to starting the sequel to this :)

So, let me say this first: I love this story. I've read it more than once, and am rereading it to read the sequel. I'm not very good about reviewing, and I apologize for that.
I really love the chemistry between Taryn and Evans, in this chapter and later ones. They always get to me.
But dear lord, at the end of this chapter I'm always like "SHIT'S GOING DOWN SHE'S DATING HER TEACHER" but he is not *that* type of teacher. I don't know if this has ever bothered anyone before, but perhaps a rephrase is in order?
Anyway, I love this story and its huge amount of drama. Thanks for writing it!

really good start in 1st chapter

Ok I think I have read quite a few of your revised versions, and for the most part, I think you are over thinking things. The basic plot is really good - I'm intrigued by the many different love interests and complicated past thing, and when you revised it didn't seem like there was much of a major difference in these. To be honest, I think I actually preferred the initial version of this story that you posted. One of the major things I would like to suggest you change also is that Taryn and Tray have sex pretty early on in this version. Don't get me wrong, I'm not suggesting they don't have sex or anything but in your earlier version of this story, when they didn't have sex quite so soon I thought It said a lot more about their relationship. Taryn's character is/has been involved with a lot of different men, and when she and Tray had sex I felt it made their relationship seem a lot more casual than you were trying to portray it as. Of course, I don't actually know what is going to happen as the story progresses, so if it was your intention to make their relationship casual as Taryn ends up with someone else, then fair enough.

Anyway, love the story - don't stop writing. I haven't seen a plot line like it written so well :)

Can I just say how much I love this story? I really do. I started reading it here, obviously, since I'm commenting from this account, then moved on to reading it on you LJ, since I didn't have a choice. I fell into reading it, face first. It is an amazing story and a killer plot. I'm glad I had the chance to read it.

Rosie Thinks: I'm a huge fan of Tijan - each of her books are completely unique and speaks to the reader. 'A Whole New Crowd' is about Taryn trying to moving on from her criminal past and those she loved by changing schools and being adopted by a family. Tijan writes Taryn's 'badgirl' character very well without it becoming corny or overused. She's a kickass protagonist with an extremely strong voice and, despite being a bit of a bitch, is still likeable. The author's character development is amazing; she creates characters with many intricate layers and credible (and pretty cool) backstories. All her main male characters (i.e. Tray, Jace, Brian) seem, well, just plain hot. This is probably because her writing is just so detailed that you feel like you're there, inside Taryn's head, watching the characters interact. Tijanshows, rather than tells, and that's a very important technique to have when writing. The only downside is that it's not finished yet, but she is revising it and has it posted on her LiveJournal as well. It's a perfectly balanced story - part romance, part friendship/family, and a bit of action thrown in there too. Despite it's incomplete status, I still highly recommend reading it as it is so interesting and different from any other story I've read on FP.
