An Apple Bleeds At Twilight 2007-08-23 . chapter 1Lovely. I loved these lines especially:
"All my life I’ve tried to write,
Tried
And succeeded only
In telling tales
Of ones I’ll never know
And scenes I’ll never see.
But ask me
If, once, I can write of the things
That defined not them but me:"
Very descriptive. I've actually gone through this same process and it's very hard to write life down as it is. Probably because it's so much easier to lose yourself in something that isn't real then something that is, simply because we cannot describe the emotion, the realism, that readers need to grasp in order to feel as the writer feels. But here, you've done it beautifully.
"Such is me:
A writer willing to weave all the stories
Born of her mind
But not yet those
Born of her heart."
Such a realistic, lovely few lines here. Simply because I can relate to them. I can write fantasy but I cannot write for the life of me write books set in our day.
Great job.

Vost Thenen 2007-05-27 . chapter 1Ahh, the writers paradox and ultimate decision. How much do you let your readers in? The complications of the heart and the workings of the clandestine give many people a leg up in hurting you. The paradox lies in the fact that our lives are so complicated (and sometimes painful) that it's difficult to write about, yet without these complications, it'd be meaningless.
On the writing side, this is some beautiful free verse. You play with some varying rhythmns and suceed. The line breaks are perfectly placed and it carries a tone of mournful nostalgia yet pervading joy.
Beautiful. |
