| Nightmare Wolf 2007-12-08 ch 1, | abuseYou've managed to eloquently say everything I have ever wanted to. I think I'm in love with you. :P |
| MuzikalWriter 2007-10-20 ch 1, | abuse*applause, catcalls, what have you* Huzzah! I believe that fictionpress and fanfiction should employ a "Drivel Detector" to filter through the fiction that idiots have written. Although I'd hate to have that job. "Excuse me, but your writing is absolute rubbish. Please remove it from our site immediately or you will be hunted down by our Fiction Bounty Hunter." I wouldn't want that job, either. |
| Opal Fairy 2007-06-26 ch 1, | abuseThis is so true. I remember noting in a review before that the author really didn't need to be so graphic in her sex scenes sometimes hinting is enough to know whats exactly going on. Also the walking into sunset point is so true too. Though you obviously want the major theme of the story to be tied up at the end its always ruins a good story if it ends with everyone in their respective couples. I am guilty of the spell checker point though really need to reread my stuff more before i upload it but anyway good rant:) |
| AmarieC 2007-06-11 ch 1, | abuseAdmission: I have an OC. But the key to writing a good story with a Mary Sue in it is to NOT, NOT, NOT make the OC the plot! If you have an actual plot and are only using an OC for the fun of it, and write it well, you should have no problems outside of the prejudices of people. Nice essay, I agree with most of it. People should learn to be more detailed and spend more time on things, and actually use English. Most of the time I can't even read stuff that people write like 3*(9FEADU FOR U. I mean, it's like translating some other language sometimes! Nice story, good and honest, but I do believe you could have used a better title, because most of the time, the people who make these errors AREN'T thinking at all! Hee hee. |
| Kenna-Kat11 2007-06-11 ch 1, | abusethe points you mentioned in your essay were very good and very true...i especially liked the part that told people not to resolve all the issues at the end of the story so perfectly...it bugs me so much when people end a story with every problem solved and put back in place like a puzzle...you have to leave something for the reader to wonder about even if its something small...i also liked the part about not relying on spell check because it truly doesn't catch all of our human mistakes...lastly i liked how you said "as though the characters were merely dolls, and now that you've finished playing with them, they can all go back to their neat, pristine packaging." beacuase a lot of authors do forget their characters and put them away once they are done... i could go on but i am just going to stop boring you now!..overall great job! ~E~ |
| .love.me.kiss.me.hate.me. 2007-05-30 ch 1, | abuseWhat was she thinking? I just read one of the worst stories ever. It was about a non-fictional character, Alexander Graham Bell, and all it did was poke fun at history and its many events. The author's not going to be too happy because I left them FP Guidelines and such.. Forget them. I enjoyed the point about spellcheck. When I use MS Word, I usually add unnecessary apostrophes and it's not going to pick that up. I need to do more than a quick once over when I proof read, ha ha. Guidelines. They even tell you to do so. Well, I don't really have anything else to say. I was just in the neighborhood (Essay) and I thought I'd stop by, ha ha. It was interesting enough and I'll have to make sure that the next time I write a story (for the sake of the reader I hope it's not anytime soon) the characters don't all walk into the sunset laughing. Peace. |
| abba12 2007-05-26 ch 1, | abuseall very good points, i agree. especially with the lemons, its one of the key reasons i dont even bother with fanfics, so many just end up as **. though i must say, im giulty of loosing it with the spell checker every so often ;) |
