Bleached Roses 2007-05-27 . chapter 1The poem is gorgeous. It begins with an almost childlike feel.. "star bright, star light," but then morphs into an almost eerie transistion of painful memories and fairy tale feelings. I also read the author's note and I can relate. It's amazing what one small moment in life can spark in a person's mind. The death of the bunny, which you relate also to your grandfather, only serves to make me think of a quote - "Every life impacts someone, even if they never knew you." |

This was a beautiful poem, and I'm sorry about what happened to Fang. A couple of weeks ago, a few friends of mine and I were taking a walk (during gym class). We saw a bird that's hip was misplaced and both feet were standing out at odd angles. I brought him home to take him to a wildlife clinic, but he died the next morning. Basically, I know how you feel (not to mention Fluffy died a few weeks ago -- my snake). It won't feel so bad as time goes on. (Sorry, that sounds corny.)
