you're flow of writing doesn't bore the readers at all, keeps them reading til the end. i haven't read a story similar to this at all, so good job on originality, kept interest, and good topic. i kind of know the feeling. i've been dropped by my good friend, too once. but it's all good now, i have people i can talk to. so yup. no criticism here :D
