| ode to melancholy 2007-06-16 ch 1, | abuseYou know, usually, I don't have a problem if people get something wrong with the spelling. But when people slaughter their language like this, then I get **. I hardly understood this. I'm sure you could be a great poet if you just try harder. |
| J Gund 2007-06-07 ch 1, | abuseI have read a few of your poems today and, just out of curiosity, why do you use so much l33t? I am not against l33t in poetry, but I am having quite a bit of trouble at interpreting what you are trying to convey through the use. Something you might want to consider is only using the l33t for the important words or phrases in your poems that you want to hit people, leaving them knowing exactly where everything changed and setting the mood and tone. Alternatively, you might also want to experiment with maybe starting off with strict proper english spelling grammar, and then gradually transition into l33t to show change (which will differ depending on the topic of the poem and signify an assent or dessent). The opposite of this might be worth trying as well. I just bring it up because this seems to be something that you use a lot, even if you are not noticing it. I have noticed that poetry is not just the words, but how you present it through spelling, grammar and punctuation, or lack thereof. Ir the entire poem together can form a shape in words. No matter how you present a poem, people will want to know why you present it the way you do and how it relates to the meaning. |
