Yet another prize review by a Review Squader for the April Review Marathon.

I very much like how you depicted the willow in so few words. That perspective's been taken before, but it was written well. And very pretty, too.

Although the "friend" at the end of the haiku sounded ...well, a little lame. Like you only had four syllables, so you stuck that at the end. Your haiku's very good; so I'd like to see a different phrasing at the end. It would make it so much better, I think. :)

A good alternative view on nature; open-ended and allowing plenty of space for imagination. The only thing I would say is that "willow" seems rather poetic and so the word "sad" looks out of place - maybe replace with another word, perhaps not even meaning sad, but implying it? ^^ Just a thought.

I liked this poem because of the last line. Was charming and contained emotion.

I also liked this because of your description of the willow, as "hunched" and "in a sad pose."

But, the haiku is very nice...
It made me... feel... or wish,
"I wish I have a willow like that..."

I love this piece because it is my favorite tree too! I also like the description of it because hunched is an interesting way to describe it. Also like the friend at the end.

I've always wondered the same thing. I like this piece, the imagery is beautiful. Nice work.

this reminds me of william carlos williams. he wrote a poem about a wheelbarrow.
i think i love this more, though.
