No, actually I really like this- it sounds very poetic, and it has some really great imagery.

I like dthe initial description but I think it needs more action. Like, for instance, how does she meet this friend at the airport. Maybe you should start the story at the airport. I like the set-up about how the girl wants a boyfriend though.
