lostandwandering 2007-06-30 . chapter 1hit home it did, i wish more people in "america" would be able to read this and realize how selfish they are. the people who sit on their lazy **'s and get money handed to them on a silver platter, and wouldn't know work if it hit them across the head. whereas, the people who actually work to survive, are handed nothing, and are only looked down upon. yes the american dream is truly ** up, it should be the exact opposite of what it is now. keep writing brett, an good piece, i wish it could be heard everywhere in the messed up country. real, true, and down to earth, as your writings always are. keep it up. |
Irony's.Last.Words.Were 2007-06-29 . chapter 1This...really did hit home. My favorite line was the last line, "Product of your environment? Not your fault? Unfair? Hold that thought. I need to go change the line “Pursuit of Happiness” to “Welcome to America, we’ll pursue it for you.”"
Personally, I'm against the government handing out money to people who are "not able" to work and/or find a way to earn money for themselves. It gives those people the mentality that they will always be provided for, so they don't have to work. And our parents are paying the government their hard earned money (half of which could go to household expenses or paying off some bill) for these people who don't even have to work! How wrong is that? I mean, try and put an average American in the shoes of our forefathers who had to literally build their own houses and work from sun up to sun down, and I guarantee you that they, nine times out of ten, wouldn't be able to even last half a day in their shoes.
America really has become more corrupt than people are willing to admit.
