| Busillis 2007-07-05 ch 1, | abuseAn interesting story. I think it does a good job of capturing the almost mystic appearance of technology from a primitive perspective. However, I did have one issue. I liked the ending, but the destruction of the cities by the visitors seemed either irrational or vindicative in the extreme, seeing as they were leaving. As the story approached its conclusion, I expected them to kill everyone, and then colonize the planet. Killing and then leaving didn't make sense to me. Perhaps I missed something. Still, a good story. The title also comes from a good poem, particularly in the original Latin. |
