Kazuki Mishima 2007-08-27 . chapter 1This poem is very well-written. I've always liked daisies, and the last stanza just made me like them more. The comparison between the flowers and the dead woman is very striking. I liked that this poem examined death without being excessively mournful. |
Lady Isabella De Luca 2007-08-10 . chapter 3Short and sweet! I like the rhytym the alliteration brings to the poem. I love the visual of "moon-drenched field". I have been debating in my mind whether wildflowers have a scent or scents...not sure. The one thing I don't like is that last line, it lacks the rhythm and flow the rest of the poem has. It's nice to read a lighter poem after your last depressing one! :-) |
Lady Isabella De Luca 2007-08-10 . chapter 2Wow...this poem actually moved me more the second time i read it, i actually got a little teary eyed. I absolutely love the ending. "And I cried because no one else cried with me" That one line conveys so much emotion, it is so perfect for the poem. I like your idea of connecting these poems in a little collection. One thing I noticed, and I don't if the site did it because it has done it to me before, but the spacing seems a little off. I may have put a space between the walking parts and the crying parts instead of making it one long stanza...but really it makes no difference. Really powerful celeste, I love it. |
Lady Isabella De Luca 2007-08-10 . chapter 1Well you already know I love this poem and how proud I am of you writing freeverse...but I like it so much I have to tell you again! LOL. I love the irony of the poem, how it is the discarded daisy, the weed valued less than rose, that is the only life in the poem, the only thing alive. "a smile in an ocean of frowns" I love that line. Keep up the freeverse! |
BelovedOfAslan 2007-08-10 . chapter 1Wow! I love the common thread between the daisy, the rose, and the grave. The repititon of that one line pulls everything in nicely. |
The-Dreams-of-Emma-Michele 2007-07-05 . chapter 1I really liked it, especially the repeating. Very nice. |
