Reviews For: Island of Bridges
Tawny Owl 2008-08-31 . chapter 1
I really loved the idea of all the islands and all the bridges surrounding them. It made the story feel a bit mythological almost.

There are lots of details in here as well, like the crescent moon on the principal character's brow, that make me think that there is alot more to the world that you've created then we get to see. It makes it seem more real.

I did think that I'd get a bit lost when I first started reading this, but suprisingly didn't. I did have to double take at the comment about matches at the end - but that was just me being dense!

The story as I found it was really nice. It had an insightful way of expressing things oddly. And not odd in the bad sense, but in the strange and honest sense. Like how we are tied to our past and our past is tied to us.

In ways it reminds me of a philosophical story that or those verses from stories or authors that hold a depthful meaning. I exactly explain what I like about it, besides the fact it makes me think. But it holds a soft delicateness to it that is definitely insightful. Almost like a dream that reveals your inner thoughts and secrets.

...

I know what else it say about it... or how to express how it moved me...

I agree with Lady Dream Writer that it sounds like a plea from the heart and how it is expressed with fear of rejection. The words alone show that, but the emotion behind it express that--which makes it nice.

I like the lines where you have:
Maybe I could kiss them away slowly,
And attempt to make you whole again.

It has a soft, evoking sentimentalness to it.
