I am liking where this is going. It was a bit confusing though because I didn't know who was talking, so if you could, try to clarify that sometimes.

This is different from other drug stories I've seen where its all angst. This proves different. And the klepto guy (Nate, right?) is a real nice addition.

So this is another person going through addictions? I must I like the story so far. Little descriptions but the dialouge is there and feels real. Good so far!

I like your dialog here. The characters are easily shown, as is the scenario. I am a but surprised at how easy he was let go (without even one night in jail or something?) and the description was a bit thin. So unless it was intentional it might be something to consider broadening.
