concerto49 2008-01-27 . chapter 1One thing you missed is that the news is biased as well. You realize we only see what they show us and hence want us to see. We never see the facts as they are an in its entirety. It's shaped and bended so we see how they see it with their intentions. You see a little blinded by only the perspective you're given.
It was a good account of what you say though - like you incoporated both the objective news and your subjective reaction and balanced the two sides. Again, you're only commenting on what you saw. Do you know the real story? Do you know why? They might say investigation says it's a technical bug - do you believe them? Until you know the truth can you say?
You missed another point - the television channels you view are companies - they want to make money. So many people die each day and things happen. They care less. They report it so you get ratings. I mean obviously not all are like that, but if you think it's the reason they cut the news it's that. Maybe they do care, but then they might not feed their family. People are selfish, but that's them. If you can't even care for yourself how do you care for others?
Ha, it's very emotional and I liked how you reacted to this, but maybe it's a little over-reaction. Let's just say that's how things are and we rather accept than try to deal with most people. Changing this world is hard, too hard. |
Gulia 2007-11-21 . chapter 1 I remember this one. And I agree-- yesterday Maria was complaining about having to buy new glasses that cost maybe $400. And while I realize that is a lot, she has to spend it maybe every ten years. Whereas my parents have to spend a thousand dollars a month just to keep Peter and me functioning. So no sympathy here.
I should write one of these rants. |
Natana Reccama 2007-11-17 . chapter 1I understand exactly how you feel. I try very hard not to watch any sort of news program; it's disgusting. And in my mind, it's not really real anyways. Alot of the news is fake stuff. Does the Tickle-Me-Elmo toy need to be a news story? That should be a comercial, not a headline. The main-steam media is a tool used by people who want power. And, as you said, all the news reporters are oh-so phony.
And I do believe that a thought can change the world. Atleast, that's where it starts. A thought is powerful, for, used the correct way, can change anything. Courage will come; we are still young. But do not that think that thoughts have no value, or don't count as anything, or can't change the world. Indeed, they are the only things that ever have. ~Natana |
