...I am speechless...It had me thinking of my first dog, Max. Wow...I can't believe I am speechless. There are no words to describe how perfect I think this piece is.

That was a beautiful story, very moving. It brought tears to my eyes, especially the last bit. As a dog owner this story meant a lot to me.

I will be losing my dog soon. She has terrible arthritis. I can sympathize. Beautifully written. There is a book you might like. It's called "Marley and Me," and it recounts the life of the author's dog. It's very funny, but ultimately sad.

That was so beautiful, and so unbelievably sad and touching. I loved it. It makes me think of my puppy (who is sleeping in her bed but a few feet away right now.) There are no words to describe how wonderful this story is...I absolutely love it. It's so...poignant! And so sad yet sweet. Wonderful.

Not many pieces of writing can make me cry, but you did a great job of it. Flashes me back to the few summers I spent tree planting with my parents. Although I was only around four on the last planting season I have been to, I can remember just pictures of my dog, my family and I running threw the trees, playing. Her name was Dax, and I miss her like you could not imagine.

I love this. I lost my dog just over a year ago. We had to put her to sleep due to a spinal problem. She was fifteen. This story resonates so deeply within me, especially the third-last paragraph. You really capture the bond a human and dog share, and because of that, this is a phenomenal story.

Oh my god, that is so sad, yet...very beautiful at the same time. I love stuff like this, and the whole time I read it, I thought of my own cats and dogs...That was so sweet.

In a way, your story makes me think of my old dog Speckles. He was my best friend and your story reminds me of the things we used to do together. Nice job, it was really well written.

You really captured the essence of dog and man. Everything is so descriptive (I especially love "The scent of the wild" - that's such a great phrase and also "mirrored the sun in his fur and in his spirit") that if anyone tried to write a summary about your story, they couldn't because every paragraph, every sentence describes the relationships between this lovely pair. Also the language is just plain amazing.
