Another great perspective!

You managed to build a living, breathing character in an extremely small amount of space, and I'm impressed by that. Your wording is wonderful - your ideas are fluently expressed - and I've no complaints.

Again, this little story managed to creep me out. The fact that so much unhappiness and dissatisfaction can spring from success is an uneasy thought.

The title drew me in, and though I've only read the first chapter so far, I'm impressed!

Maybe part of it is because I can identify with the first part of this. I've had a recurring dream like that (minus being replaced permanently), but I loved the idea all the same. When I finished this I was reminded of the Twilight Zone, perhaps because of its eeriness and surreality, and I can see this as an episode.

You snatch away the comfort we associate with dreams. The ending line made me shiver.
