I hate to use such cliche words, but wow this is amazingly good. You've done a great job at keeping the suspense flowing and the ending is very unexpected and satisfying-more so than if you would've involved the supernatural.

This has been superbly written! The plot unravels itself, and you've used suspense very well. Each word beckoned me to read the next at faster and faster speed until I was rushing through the words trying to find out what resided in the Dalton residence's room upstairs.

The twist was skilfully done. It was only anti-climactic for me because I was thinking of an otherworldly explanation, and I was hoping to read more about plot development. Is there only one chapter? =D But really, I wouldn't have seen the twist coming even until the very last second. Threw me totally off-track too, but in a good way of course. =D

Wow.. that was creepy. I was expecting the monster to be something supernatural, but this was much scarier. Nicely written!
