Just a little bit of a disagreement- we didn't chart the whole world in 1492; there still is a bunch left over, uncharted, even now, but I really get what your saying. The human race has this hunger to explore and explain, which really belittles majestic things in our eyes. That said, I am IN LOVE with your last stanza, it really is PERFECT (except it needs a period). Keep up the good work!

The writing made me smile, even if the message is rather sad. Columbus probably didn't contribute much to the European discovery of the American continents (he thought he found another way to India until he died), but I understood what you were saying and I think the reference to the old rhyme makes a good introduction to the heart of this poem.
