The Gobbler 2007-08-23 . chapter 1Impressive. Very impressive. I rarely find love poetry that doesn't immediately strike me as moronically cliche, but this one doesn't even reach slightly cliche; it's written with very original language. Even more impressive is that it's a sonnet [an almost Shakespearean one at that, it's only missing the stanza breaks], which automatically makes it more difficult as it gives you rhyming and stylistic restraints. I LOVE the rhymes; I'm always impressed with rhyming in sonnets, because they're always unexpected. The words are ones that you don't, at first, think to rhyme.
Finally, I'm a romantic, so I loved it. Could relate to it, also. Well done. |
