I really liked this story... reminds me of things I've said about photographs. With a little re-working I could see this working as a monlogue on stage or something. I'll admit I didn't quite see the twist of him being the child that took the photo... I thought perhaps a father or something. Well written though. Thank you for sharing. :)

Wow, this is really nice. I like the little interlude lines to talk to people in the class, and you do a good job making a solid chunk of dialogue sound realistic. I don't have any actual writing suggestions, but you may want to close the quotes at the end of the piece. Also, engineering is more on the application side of the spectrum then the theoretical--maybe math or astrophysics? Other than that, great job!
