Spoodle 2007-09-02 ch 1,	abuseOh, I could just eat this up! But that's not very nice, because other people won't be able to read it! And theres no justice in that with a tender sweet-aching story like this. I'm a radical fanatic of stories involving monarchies, or princes in general. There's always so much thrill and tension you can practically bathe in it. To be brutally honest - I really, really enjoyed this. The whole oblivious gardener and laughable albeit lovable royalty simply GLOWED. The jazzed confusion was especially a delicacy. It was frustrating (in a good way) reading and stopping every few seconds or so - mumbling, "No, that's not what he means!" I'm telling you, that's how into it I was. I also appreciate the fact you wrote this for an author. Plots could be real dangerous when they want to be, so you always have to keep in check and make sure they don't catch you off-guard. Especially for writers who have a godzillion of fics to update on, or that need to concentrate on finishing one (a rare phenomenon in FictionPress, bow down to those who have achived the complete status). I've read a few chapters of Inkslinger's Rise of the Dawn, and it really is a wonderful read. But have a little (well a decent amount of) confidence in yourself when writing; there's absolutely no such thing as a substitute author. You're purely original, as is everyone else. Writers have different styles and diction, so it's a little unfair to compare them (although, we know a good story when we see one). Our perspectives also differ, and to what I see pleasing may seem to you unappealing. In my opinion (they're like **, everyone has them, so I don't know if mine'll count for much), you're a fantastic storyteller. I mean, this story has some sort of natural beauty, so much that it's heartrending. Write more like these, will you? There's not enough going around, and my royalty-fetish is far from dissapating. Although anything you write- be it modern, fantasy, or futuristic- I'll be sure to read. Now you have your own fan! :grin: Thanks for sharing. ~spoodles
