The repition that slowly degrades makes me think of riding a raft toward a waterfall: steady at first then quickening to a splash.

So wonderful! Exactly, I think, what goes through many people's minds. I don't know if you're going for sleeping with someone, but the poem really reminds me of how much of a big step it is. What really pulled me into that frame of mind is the "but striking that match, starting a spark Isn't quite lighting the fire And I don't want to lose myself For nothing but desire." But my favorite lines were the last two. Keep up the good work,
