The emotions portrayed raw and deep and real. You take the reader on a little flight on a cloud into dreamland. The mood surrounds us and completes this lovely poem. |

How sad, I would've felt so bad for her! Anyway, it is a very hard time to go through when a loved one leaves your life and denial is one of the stages we go through. You hit the mark perfectly. Although the speaker knows the person is dead, their denial is evident, which is difficult to portray without being too outright and obvious. I wasn't sure what an "earth pillow" was at first(!), but with rereading it has become clearer. The lady on the bus was apparently in a lot of emotional turmoil, and you've shown that beautifully. This poem is excellent on paper, but even better when spoken! Well done! |
