great poem and so true. i've stopped refering to my two favorite girls in the world as my best friends. because they're really so much more than that. they're my sisters.

my mom always tells me to do things with my cousins because "friends will come and go, but family will always be there." the problem with that statement is that they are part of my family, far closer to me than my cousins.

I so feel that way. The term best friend has completely been 'lost in translation'. Great point to the poem..realy awesome!

I like this one a lot! The way that you convey your emotions is very raw. It's easy to comprehend the fact that you have a lot of compassion for those you title "true friends."
My only problem with this piece is that I'm sure you have plenty more to say about your feelings towards others' thoughts and about these "true friends" and it's a pity that we haven't seen much more of your honesty about it.
