Discipulus 2007-11-21 . chapter 1
I've found the issues for the past year, having only found them in the past month, to be very useful and bring me, more than once, out of a slump. You all have brilliant thoughts that really shine when put together in one place. I just want to give out a big thanks to Burnt Bread for starting this article and everyone else for participating - great job!

Happy Halloween to you, too, Bread! Guess what else is coming up? My birthday! Yay! It's tomorrow. Yay. ^^

Disturbly: 'Criss Angel' doesn't have an 'h.' Just in case you cared. And about talking to squirrels... ever seen "The Emperor's New Groove?" Speaking of office supply gods, I made a superhero like that... with an army of paperclips. Hooray for an awesome article! You rock!

Concerto: You make good points, but there's a lot of unnessecary repetition in your piece and sentences tend to have odd grammar (you enclose most of the sentence in a comma where it doesn't make sense). There are a lot of fragmented thoughts and nothing seems to be elaborated on fully. It just seems like you wrote it in a sort time and didn't go back to edit anything.

Fen-Shay: It's so true! I love you, Fen-Shay! Your article displays everything that I believe about telling a proper story! You are my hero. Although some people do just wake up and randomly want to kill kittens... I do believe that. Everything else... you're amazing. *hugs*

Multiples of 6: Wow. You basically just tore down a site that you're actually a part of... most people would tend not to go there. You did. I'm not sure how I feel about that yet.

Disturbly: Your second point is truly excellent. Your examples in point three would make much more sense if I were more aware of the books you're referencing. And 'sheer' the way you use it isn't spelt with an 'a.' I applaud you for your brilliant efforts in this article.

Fen-Shay: I would be a vegetarian, but... I like cheeseburgers too much. It's the sad truth. I'm sorry. But there at the end, you made me shiver. I'm sitting in a humid room. Do you know how hard that is? I practically have goose pimples! You're amazing, Fen-Shay.

Bread: You made me cry a little inside. Human diamonds? Although, it DOES bring up some interesting thoughts on the nature of wars in the future...

Disturbly: "nothing to protect them but their blanket and their cutlass... Actually, I'm told for most it would be a Teddy Bear; just one of the areas where I can't relate to most people, having been raised in a pirate household..." Thanks for that. You made my day just then. This article is most definitely the best out of all those that appeared in this episode. Congrats on being a real writer.

Great work to everyone who submitted. I look forward to the next!

Felicia.

I resent that promises and procrastination comment, Bread... ;)

Wolfie, it was about beasts. Essentially, I think we can all agree that sharks are pretty beastly. But it was also sort of about villains, too. I just had two different things to say on the topic.

Great job, guys. This one's pretty short, but it's concise and excellently done. Thumbs up.

I think I might actually be able to do that challenge, Bread, though if I don't get it in by the first of November, then I probably can't. NaNoWriMo, you know. Are you going to do it this year?

God. Damn. Disturbly, I can tell you are going to be one hell of an incredible asset to StP. Your piece brought...well, not tears to my eyes, but it brought me out of a slump. In fact, I think you inspired me for the NaNoWriMo this year!

*nods* Intellectual look at villains, Fen-Fen. Very enlightening. Bad news for all the people who want to be evil, though--they can never be evil! ^_^

Now, there's a novel take at the 'Oceans' theme, multiples of six. And one that's too damned true. I agree, and if you, yourself, are looking for some of those pearls, I think the stuff on my favorites list (the stuff that isn't just humorous) are some good reads.

Honestly considering the possibility that 'Disturbly' translates to 'Godly' in some long-dead (but now revived) language. Terrific analyzation and layout of villians; with any luck, people can follow four simple steps. If not, they'll come to FictionPress. *shrug*

Strong words. What topic was that for, Fen-Fen? Oceans? *shrug* It doesn't matter; the point is the point, right? Right. Written in a powerful way.

*open-mouth gape* No f*ing way! That is and honest-to-god actual thing? Dead bodies being made into diamonds? Material girls, material world. I'll be damned.

Monsters. So much to say, yet so many axioms. Pick either; the nail was hit on the head regardless.

I really ought to get writing. I haven't written since the first day of school. Fact.

Ooh. To be honest I thought an open issue would be kind of weird, but this flowed well together. The first essay and the last essay (and all of the ones in between) were awesome! It's kind of sad that STP is going on holiday :/ but I hope a lot of people will participate in the challenge =)
