Don't worry about the name thing. lots of people nowadays have opposite sex names. as for the character bio...i think you should write the story instead and tell us about her there instead of giving it to us straight up. readers want to get to know your character through their actions and find out more about them little by little. it keeps them hooked and in want of more. keep the character bio to yourself and update it as necessary.

By the way, Alex isn't just a guy's name, it's unisex.
