I love your story. It's a lot like Sherlock Holmes, but with a few twist (Miranda's a girl, Lane's the butler). I like how Lane refers to Holmes using masculine terms; a lot of those prejudices are hard to get rid of even if you've been working for someone for a long while. Also interesting was Miranda's habit of collecting souvenirs (I think those are souvenirs in that case in the end, right?) from her cases. Are you going to write more about this character or was this just a one-off thing?
