You were very eloquent, and there was a contrast between the journal entry and the story itself, but you gave a good feel for Layla's character. Like Kendall below me, my family can relate. My dad's birthday is two days after Christmas, and it's got to be lame - getting all his birthday presents wrapped in X-Mas paper. The end was fantastic...it's a really good message. Made me grin. |

And, I have to say, I never expected it to end the way it did! A pile of gifts to make up for the past... It's so sweet! (And such a creative twist to the prompt you were given... I'll bet your instructor was impressed.) On a side note, I can relate to the story. Well, my brother can. His birthday is Christmas Eve. Fortunately, I don't think he's ever felt slighted.
