I have to admit that the "suffering from terminal stupidity" line in the summary was what caught my attention, but this story is so sweet and romantic and the ending makes me happy :)

What I loved about this piece is the ending. Too many stories go from troubled times, to a settlement, and the reader is somehow suppose to believe that all ends 'happily ever after' and the previous troubles that drove the characters apart are gone. This story doesn't have that, which means it's all the more real. Real characters, real emotions. Very nicely done.
