this is very atmospheric and is vividly described, you can taste the smoke and alcohol in the words. the internal rhymes give it a soft and eerie feel and it makes a pleasurable read.

my only suggestion would be to streamline the prose a little, it would give you more room to play with rhythm and would give more emphasis to the mystery. on the whole though, i enjoyed this.
