The ending wasn't what I was expecting at all, caught me completely off guard. It's nice to see a story that doesn't end with happy, fluffy clouds and flying ponies finding true love with happily ever afters. I wouldn't say it's realistic per se, but less idealized or romanticized than most stories. The writting seemed to change in an odd way throughout the story though. The level of descriptions and a couple other things seemed to deterialize as the story progressed, that was wierd, but still the story was a very good read. ~Callie

railee 2008-03-29 ch 18, anon.	abusealright, before you started winging it, you actually had some good material here. your writing needs quite a bit of work by the way. anyways, once you started winging it, the story stopped being a story and started turning into journal entries. you rushed and mushed everything together, and really it seems like you spent very little time on the idea as a whole. this had so much potential when you started, but to be quite honest, i'm nothing but disappointed with the outcome. the characters have no substance, you only ever talked from one character's POV, and you never explained anything. things 'just happened'. when you started, you actually described the scene, you put time and effort into making the places Aethel was going to real, and the people she was coming into contact with real, but once you decided to just wing it, you stopped all of that all together. a story is typically supposed to get better the further along it goes, if not in the actual idea and plot then at least in the author's writing skill. i have to say, your probably the first author i've ever read a story from who's gotten worse as the story progresses. i really didn't want to flame you, but i was just so bitterly disappointed that there's very little that i can find good with this story besides the general idea. maybe you just hate writing a lot, or are incapable of doing so, but your short chapters, and you lack of story between events definitely left a lot left to be desired.
