I really enjoyed it. :D I don't understand the part about their mom dying though. Did his mom die or not? Cause if she did he seemed to get over it pretty quickly...
Other than that it was pure gold.

I love this immensely! The only comment that I have is that it might be better if you took out the "girl"s in Katherine's and Mina's conversation; it seemed as though you were trying to make them "sound black" in your writing. And usually African-American people in rather formal or executive working environments don't ever use that term, and I really can't imagine Katherine, as good at what she does, saying that, even with her friends.

*Had been looking out for him the past six months. "So, where have you been?" She asked innocently. Derek looked at her, his smile slipping a bit. A look of sadness crossed his handsome face. Tamika felt her heart skid to a halt and immediately wihsed she'd kept her mouth shut. "I'm sorry, Derek." she whispered.* Aww his mommy died! darn!
*Change and reflection seemed to swim over him and Darryn. Even though they'd known the end result of what would happen, it didn't prepare you for when it did. Derek left the bar an hour later and drove home. Tamika watched quietly as he left the club. Maybe next time she'd take him on up on that dinner. Live a little. Spice of life. It wasn't like Derek was the end of the road. She had a lot of living to do, so why couldn't she see what would happen. Maybe it would be different.* hence the mix of two different agendas.
*The diamond was ridiculous. A princess cut encased with two more rows of smaller diamonds around it. It glittered beautifully in the low light and was huge. A thick band held it firmly. Derek held it up to see Darryn had it ingraved with their initianls and "I Love You, Always".* hehe, aww.
*"I saw this Derek and I knew it was perfect. I was just imagining it on her fingers. The way it would look against her slender brown..." Darryn stopped when he heard gagging noises. He looked at Derek who was bent over pretending to vomit. "Real mature, Derek. Shut the hell up!"* hehee, that's so cute and funny.
*Single, a bachelor, with an expensive pad, and a consistent revolving door for women. Derek wasn't so sure he wanted to do that again. Although he didn't want to be tied down permenantly, maybe something special would be nice. Someone that he could connect to. Derek got up and undressed. He made his way to his room and decided, he'd make a special effort to be more emotionally available to the women he dated. No more Mr. Casanova. Derek chuckled at the absurdity.* well that nice to know, I hope he follows through.
As I would hope you do to, because this a good little beginning, it would be great to continue connecting with the saga's protagonists, they're sweet and entertaining, and I would love to see the babies ^_^, and how they said goodbye to their mom, how did Darryn recover from that so spectacularly? wow, cool though.

*She was sure the air seemed warmer and the night air quieter. All that noise in between was gone.* Nice metaphor.
*After showering, Darryn landed on his bed and called Katherine to wish her goodnight. The phone call lasted two hours.* ;)
*Katherine was a bit hesitant, because it was the south, but although the looks of "fascination" were few and far in between, Darryn's comforting hand in hers made her feel better.* sigh...that feeling never does die does it :(
*"Thank you." he whispered. Darryn was more than thankful for her presence and understanding. They finished packing and checked out the hotel. He let Katherine drive while he continued to try and contact his father.* beautiful, calm relationship.
*I'd done my job and now my babies were flourishing." she finished.* aww! that is such a sweet sentiment, what a mommy! ;) His poor mother :(
*He'd forgotten she was there.* hmm, must just be the shock of see those three buddies in a mini reunion.
* Work didn't talk back.* heh yeah, doesn't shut you out either.
*"Yeah." Derek muttered. He looked down the bar as Tamika walked to help someone else. He rolled his shoulders and sipped the rest of his drink thoughtfully.* hmm, how interesting, he cares for more, wow.
*He wiped his face, disgust filling him at how she'd mauled him, although beautiful, he wasn't putting his relationship in more jeopardy than what it already was. * thank goodness!
*Feeling sick to her stomach, Katherine ran to the bathroom and tossed everything that she'd eaten that evening.* this might mean something else .>
*He missed her giving him what he knew he needed and would just ever need. Her love.* Precious ending, funny too ;) He's got a lot to learn but they're ok, and in love and for now that's all that matters.

Thanks for the new chapter or the beginning of something. The idea that these two may be transistional for each other is intriguing. Just wanted to say I miss your work. Love your paranormal story Sajin's Mate, it really intriqued me. You did a wonderful job on the chapters you wrote...I do look forward to more from you. Love and Light

I'm glad you put this back up, and I can't wait for the others! I did notice some places where you had made improvements in the editing process... I really do hope you put Sajin's Mate back up. I normally wouldn't like that kind of story, but you were doing such a great job and I can't wait to read the rest!
