Amazingly well done. It's an interesting concept, a book not knowing the words imprinted on its own pages. I would have liked to know exactly what his (her?) story was, though. It would have made for an amusing read, I'm sure, since as someone said, the book would have surely offered his opinions on the matter. My one form of criticism would be to break up the paragraph, as it's rather large and can easily be done. (And maybe making it longer, too.) Still, you did a really good job with this, and it's impeccably well-written.

I wrote one of these, a longlonglong time ago. Only, our teacher made us write about hats. It was a little strange, but still an interesting experience.

It has a rhythm to it, which kind of rolls like a sea, and the references to treasure and battle-scars...

You could use it as an introduction piece, and have the entire story told from the book's point of view, (who would naturally, comment on everything.)

But that's just my imagination running away with me. Again.

I love how powerful your language is. It shows what you means without belabouring over it. It is very creative, original and thought provoking...

Wow! A whole story in less than 500 words! Not easy to do. This is really good and your use of metaphors make it more poignant than it would be, had you not. :)

Actually I find this to be very interesting as it was such an insightful peice. I think every word that you said was true and it was clearly well expressed. As they say: never judge a book by its cover!

Writing this is amazingly creative! I suppose one would figure that a book would know what it was about...but this is a really interesting point of view! I just have to ask how you came up with this idea. I think it's brilliant!

Very clever. So... if we read really deep into the clues, could we figure out what the book is? Hehe. Maybe not, but it was just a thought.
