This was actually a pretty good piece, I don't know why you don't really like it. The only complaint I have is how you basically killed off your character in the last paragraph. I didn't see the poem going in that direction, but instead with your character just fading into a deeper state of denial, refusing to look at the themselves deeper than the secure feelings they have in the moment from injecting themselves.
