Personification...man it's been so long since I had to use that word for English.

Shame, unfortunately, will always been the caves and caverns of our mind. Its the one emotion that cripples us more than anything else, as most of the time we only fear being shamed by someone or something.

Sad thing, yes. Thanks for the poem.

I like how you define Shame as a person. But I'm not to fond of the poem itself. I'm not a big fan of the different lengths of each sentence. I usually prefer something that has more of a flow to it. Not always, but most times. I also think that this piece could be a lot better if you used more of a variety with your word choice. Like when you said "Shame lives in a dark cave" maybe use a different word for dark that would create more impacting imagery. I do like the idea of this piece though. I just think it could use a little polishing up.

I love the personification. That used to be one of my favorite literary devices...The poem was really nice. = )

On another note, flyleaf is *not* mainstream. "all around me" very definitely mentions god...just so you know. ; )
