 S. J. K. 2007-12-07 . chapter 1Rarely does anybody come across such a style as yours, I must own; most teenagers nowadays hate long descriptions, and other such 'bores', but I think that it's great that there are still young people out there - replacing old wisdom with sense. very well written, and, I say, a certain line in the first chapter;
'I saw them so once, and it is a sweet and tender picture that will remain forever in my memory' actually made me think of William M. Thackeray and his famous Vanity Fair; speaking of all his characters as though he had known them personaly; it boosts the reader's intrigue of the author. Good job! |
 flea writer 2007-11-27 . chapter 1very nice first chapter! Your writing reminds me a lot of somewhat of a mix between Louisa May Alcott and Jane Austen ;) especially the length of lingering on the two girls appearances, which might I add is spendidly detailed!, most definitely reminds me of the opening chapter of Little Women. You have done a fine job on the first chapter. As your whole story is posted in under "chapter 1" it may be confusing to some readers, but I will definitely read the chapters in "chapter 1" when time allows. Great job. |
