The Poodlemonkey 2007-12-13 . chapter 1Absolutely amazing. Again, another amazing poem! I'm so glad you posted a new one. It rock rock rocks, dear. Absolutely rocks. Again, your tone and the feeling you put into the words and the cute rhyming scheme you use amazes me. The thing about the rhyming is that, as I've probably mentioned before, it is so airy and sweet that it contrasts sharply against the deep sadness that the message of the poem brings to the reader. The repetition of 'I will not cry' got me. It really did. The thing is, a lot of the time, people will say that we won't cry over people that hurt us, situations that ended badly, times we were victimized by the carelessness of others, by their violence or by actions done onto others that affected us indirectly. We tell ourselves that we won't cry, over and over. Simply to beat the message into our heads. And then we end up crying anyways. And, in the poem, the persona ends up crying even though she tells the guy that she won't cry. And then she tells him that she was crying her last time, saying her goodbyes. Very realistic. And she says she won't cry again because she doesn't plan to live to cry again. "It all ends in a lie." That was one line I didn't get too much. Was that saying that he wouldn't hear her reply and she really would cry again, just be dead to him? Or did that mean that, no matter how many times she said that she wouldn't cry for or over him, she knew that she always would? Her words would always end in a lie? I'm not sure... Anyways, absolutely touching poem. This one really got me. I salute you, dear. Continue writing. It's obviously very strong in you. Love ya! Cassandra. Chi hee. |
