The phrase 'What causes it?' grates on me. It disturbs the flow of the piece.
I love your contrasting questions, which is, presumably, the reason this was written. You captured what you were trying to describe very well.

This is really good. Those questions you ask are questions I have often asked myself, they describe the paradoxes of life. You have voiced them well, and I don't consider this piece "weak". I really like it.
