I really enjoyed this! You managed to create a very solid, concrete world with working, three-dimensional characters in a relatively small amount of writing. My only qualm is that you decided to end it where you did, although that's not a critique on the creative merits of your stopping point, but is merely my lamenting that there's not more to read. I would really love to see where this story could lead!
